Winter Newsletter

The Obstacle Circuit Winter Newsletter 2023

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It is definitely starting to feel like winter out there now that the cold weather has come. Regardless of the cold classes will go on and it’s the best time of year to toughen up for the most miserable conditions we may face in the upcoming race season! There’s a lot of fun to be had this winter season. With the holidays that means holiday themed classes and we also have a few crazy snow themed workouts for when the snow starts falling! We’re gonna be training in a winter workout-land!

San Luis Obispo Spartan Race and Golden Gate Trail Classic

California San Luis Obispo Spartan Race and Golden Gate Trail Classic Recap

For the majority of us our race season has come to an end for the year. Stan took on the San Luis Obispo Spartan Race National Series event and finished strong. While I took on the San Luis Obispo Spartan Race Ultra with a controversial fourth place finish. Unofficially I took 2nd according to everyone who was there. It’s a long story and if you want to know the full story you can read that in the last post! Two weeks after the race in SLO I returned to California for one more race, finishing the 50 Mile Golden Gate Trail Classic. It’s nice to be done for year and ready to focus on the next big things ahead for The Obstacle Circuit! Exciting news coming soon!

The Obstacle Circuit November 2023 Schedule

Winter season means shorter days and for some of the later classes headlamps will be required. Kids classes do not require headlamps. The 4PM classes will have a few weeks getting dark during class, but with portable lanterns and street lights there is still sufficient light as the sunset gets later.

Winter cancelation policy means you can cancel anytime leading up to class if you don’t feel comfortable driving to location or training in the cold. Texting remains the best way to let us know. If conditions get really bad Coach Daniel will text you directly to let you know of the cancelations. If you don’t receive notice of a cancelation you can assume class is still on normal schedule!

December classes are normal schedule through the holidays with the addition of Santa’s Bag of Misfit Workouts for adults and kids who want to do our holiday themed special class on Friday December 22nd, leading into the Holiday Weekend! More information coming soon on that workout. You can email/text us to reserve a spot in class now!
